Theme: Man in the Mirror

Bible Verse: “...The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see a man or woman of the world? Or do you see a child or servant of God? We live in a world that focuses on so many things that do not matter to God, whether it be appearance, money, power, or countless other materialistic things. While the world may define us through these worldly possessions and exterior image, the Lord acknowledges us by our hearts. One of the greatest kings was considered unworthy based on man’s opinion and even sinned against God, yet our Heavenly Father found favor with David, saying he was a man after God's own heart. So what can we do to focus our attention on the things God focuses on? What can we do to have a heart that beats for God? How will you let God use you to build up His Kingdom?

Track Sessions:

Track 1: The Heart of Man

What does God look for when He looks into our hearts? We will explore different episodes of David’s life and others, revealing what it is to be a person whose heart beats with God’s heart.

Track 2: The Least Shall be the Greatest

Moses, David, Deborah, Gideon, Jonah, and Paul. All unlikely servants of the Lord, all with faults and shortcomings just like our own. But the Lord often picks the least likely to do His work and build up His Kingdom. How can God use you?

Track 3: Made in the Image of God

Often times we obsess about the latest trends, what will make us look better or ways to enhance our "swag." The beauty of God is that He believes, "we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:5) God looks at our heart, not our earthly image.

Track 4: ChristianMingle - Finding God's Match for You

Ladies, looking for tall, dark and handsome? Guys, how about a girl with the perfect height, hair and eyes? Or more importantly, a match that God has handpicked for you? As Jesus said: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33) If you allow God to lead and pick out the best course for your life – then, even when you’re lonely or your heart is broken, you can turn to God for your strength.
